Job Description

Summary:

The Design Drafter is responsible for creating Designs using CAD software to create Drawings that can be used for the manufacturing of products.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create Drawings using CAD software.
  • Reviewing Mechanical Drawings, updating Job information, etc.
  • Required to be highly organized and exhibit technical proficiency.
  • Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA during times in the manufacturing area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by Management.

 

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Associate’s Degree with 3-10 yrs experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical manuals and diagrams and standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Mechanical Drawings
  • Experience with BOM and Procurements Preferred
  • Heat Exchanger or similar Mechanical Plant Equipment Experience is a plus

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and Skill with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interface effectively within all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, practice time management, meet deadlines and drive projects to completion.
  • Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
  • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Work well with all levels of the organization.

  • Employee is regularly required to speak and hear.
  • Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and use two hands.
  • Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasions.
  • Employee is regularly required to work in front of a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Work hours may fluctuate based on demand.
  • Employee must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and move around an office environment that may require movement in small areas.
  • Employee is required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses when in a manufacturing area.  Must have the ability to wear hearing protection when in production areas that require it. 
  • Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

 

Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.)

  • The employee will work in a professional office environment with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. Occasionally, working in a production area will be required with exposure to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. May occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise while on the production floor.

The hourly payrate range for this position is $32.00 to $40.00.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
