Who will you be working with?
You will work closely with the Regional Lgeal and Compliance Head to provide legal support and compliance management for all the Wabtec legal entities in China. As a member of the Corporate Legal Team, you will interact with an elite, multidisciplinary group of seasoned professionals with deep expertise and extensive practical experience. Here you will also collaborate with top-tier domestic and international law firms on various projects to address legal challenges arising from the company’s day-to-day operations.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the China legal and compliance team, you will be responsible for policy developing and localization, promoting the company-wide compliance program and foster the compliance culture in regional level and implementing various compliance initiatives. Meanwhile, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and promotion of compliance projects. You will also maintain comprehensive documentation and prepare reports to update internal management and external authorities when required.
What do we want to know about you?
- Education: Master's degree or above in Law or compliance related major from a top-tier school in or out of China. Overseas study background or an LL.M. degree is preferred.
- Experience: 2–3 years of compliance experience in a multinational corporation or in a law firm.
- Qualification: Passed the PRC Judicial Exam. PRC Bar is a plus.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. High integrity and an intense sense of responsibility, and excellent collaboration skills.
What will your typical day look like?
- Policy Development & Implementation
- Assist in updating, localizing and implementing both company-wide compliance policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Support in developing regional policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Regulatory Monitoring & Risk Assessment
- Continuously monitor and interpret new and existing laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to Wabtec business in the form of Quarterly Newsletters.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to anticipate, identify and address compliance risks.
- Training & Communication
- Develop and deliver targeted training programs to employees at all levels, fostering compliance through effective communication.
- Design and organize various compliance activities (including without limitation to Compliance Week) to promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the region.
- Advisory & Control
- Provide timely and practical compliance advice to internal clients.
- Execute compliance procedures by designing effective control points through cross-department collaboration. This includes actively engaging with different business unites to identify control gaps, investigate potential violations and recommend corrective actions.
- Audits & Investigation
- Support internal and/or external audits to ensure compliance procedures are duly followed.
- Investigate and report on compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.
- Legal Support
- Provide legal advice to business team.
- Legal entity governance, including without limitation to supporting company filings, preparing and maintaining documentation for management change.
- Contract review and legal support to business and other departments.
- Other legal matters as designated by the line manager.
