Who will you be working with?

Our Operations Excellence Global Materials team partners with Wabtec employees and sites across the Wabtec enterprise. Here you’ll routinely interact with Wabtec stakeholders to standardize Global Material processes and practices, help solve existing material issues, define strategies, and continue to measure and improve on the metrics to obtain Lean Materials Operation Excellence.

 

How will you make a difference?

The Global Planning teams support sites by establishing standards and continuously improving on those standards through use of lean methodology to harmonizes best in-class manufacturing to the sites on their transformation journey. This role will be responsible for creating continuity in processes within the Planning organizations through training, feedback and coaching of planning practices, processes, and procedures.

 

What do we want from you:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in any of the following areas: Planning, Scheduling, Purchasing, Sourcing, Material management, shop operations, facilitation, or Production Control in a Manufacturing environment, Inventory management principles and practices, or Materials specialist role.
  • Strong understanding of ORACLE Planning related modules.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Business and analytical ability.
  • Strong understanding of Lean culture & Value Stream Mapping.
  • Knowledge of the Planning modules.
  • Ability to effectively operate in any organizational structure.
  • This role may require recurrent global travel (Up to 25% of time).

 

What your typical day look like:

 

  • Send communications with data-driven findings on specific Planning KPIs.
  • Demonstrates strong ERP system knowledge of the Planning modules.
  • Helps teams to run WEBADIs and/or Dataloaders to massively correct system’s setups.
  • Becomes a focal point of domain expertise for these modules for the global materials organization.
  • Works with Global Materials Leadership team to propose & define the strategy for the Planning teams to drive execution of optimally balanced inventory planning strategies.
  • Collaborates with Global learning organization & develops effective on-boarding training programs Planners & for more senior team members within organization.
  • Collaborates with Lean Digitization team to bring the most effective productivity tools for the Planning organizations.
  • Assures all sites improve performance on their Planning metrics over time, driving HIGH utilization of the ERP modules & primarily targeting ABC Analysis, Plan for Every Part, Planning Accuracy over time.
  • Additionally, drive improvement on following metrics: C-Class Strategies, Global Planning Tool Utilization, Turns, etc.
  • Co-responsible for driving OPEX process Enterprise Alignment of Planning processes.
  • Plans, coordinates & Leads VSM and AWOs to educate, learn, problem solve and improve the value stream through Kaizen work during and after the events.
  • Lead as functional owner, the development of the new Tools – Power BI or Web Apps.
