This Sr. Production Planner position is based in State College, PA.
The Senior Production Planner will be responsible for activities related to production planning, material availability, and lifecycle management. This individual will develop, implement, and maintain production planning and material management systems. This role will be a central piece of coordinating with the Demand, Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure on time delivery of product. This individual is expected to prepare material requirement plans by using enterprise resource planning systems while looking for ways to continuously improve our systems and processes.
- Manage and release the production plan, material availability, and prepare production work orders for manufacturing to complete customer orders according to demand and establish proper replenishment and stocking quantities. Works with manufacturing to set a manufacturing priorities and holds them accountable to adhere to that schedule.
- Drive system performance and optimization to balance supply and demand, and bring transparency of risks, supply constraints, and opportunities to support the S&OP process. Help create and implement the S&OP forum as applicable.
- Managing inventory levels and minimizing them while meeting delivery expectations for their respective product categories.
- Coordinates with purchasing to manage the phase in and phase out of products to limit E&O exposure while ensuring a timely new product launch.
- Coordinates discussion and communicates plans to Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Quality, Commercial Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Product Management Service and Engineering on issues related to delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction as needed.
- Responsible for updating customer delivery dates for their respective products and communicating with the Customer Service team about delays in deliveries.
- Supports supply chain transformation initiatives while driving a continuous improvement culture.
- Coordinates with purchasing to manage the phase in and phase out of products to limit E&O exposure while ensuring a timely new product launch.
- Release and expedite work orders when necessary to meet customer delivery dates.
- Partner with planning and IT to drive process automation and best in class system performance to optimize planning and detailed scheduling
Education:
- Associates degree required, Bachelors degree desired.
Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing environment focusing on production planning and material planning
- 5+ years' experience as planner or master production scheduler functional Knowledge of ERP systems and MRP Must be a highly organized self-managed individual who works well independently with minimum supervision and ability work fast paced environment
- Ability to understand ECOs [Engineering Change Orders] Deviation Bills of materials and specification sheets
- Attentiveness to detail
- Strong decision-making and organization abilities
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Must be able to influence negotiate and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
- Experience in a Lean-Sigma environment preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with deep understanding of MS office tools.
- Accomplished lead-by-example tactical change agent with strong interpersonal skills.
- An ability to communicate at all levels and across sites to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization
Pay Range $68,000 - $85,000 base salary depending on experience plus 7.5% annual bonus target.
