Job Description

Role Summary

Responsible for leading plant quality activities covering internal manufacturing quality, customer quality, supplier quality, audits, inspection controls, ISO compliance, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives. The role involves handling customer complaints, warranty issues, supplier concerns, NCRs, audits, FAI / PPAP documentation, and ensuring plant quality KPIs are achieved.

Key Responsibilities – Plant & Customer Quality

▪ Lead and manage plant quality activities for manufacturing, customer, and supplier requirements
▪ Monitor daily quality control, inspections, audits, and issue resolution
▪ Drive quality improvement to reduce customer complaints, internal rejections, supplier defects, and warranty concerns
▪ Monitor quality KPIs and ensure achievement of plant quality targets
▪ Handle customer complaints, warranty issues, containment, RCA, corrective actions, and closure
▪ Coordinate customer audits including GPA audits, Torque audits, RTM audits, and special process audits
▪ Prepare customer FAI documents, 3.1 certificates, inspection reports, and compliance documents
▪ Ensure effective implementation of inter-process quality controls
▪ Monitor daily rejection data and initiate corrective actions for recurring defects
▪ Ensure proper instrument calibration and inspection readiness

Key Responsibilities – Quality System, Supplier Quality & NPI

▪ Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and maintain audit documentation
▪ Plan internal audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings
▪ Manage NCRs, corrective actions, preventive actions, and effectiveness reviews
▪ Manage supplier quality issues, incoming material concerns, and supplier corrective actions
▪ Conduct supplier audits and follow up on supplier improvement plans
▪ Verify supplier material certificates including 3.1 certificates
▪ Monitor supplier performance and support supplier development activities
▪ Ensure supplier FAI audit and compliance
▪ Support new product introduction, new process implementation, and product transfer activities
▪ Coordinate with production, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams for product launch readiness
▪ Ensure PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, FAI, inspection standards, and process documents are prepared and implemented
▪ Handle commodities such as rubber, machined parts, castings, plating, and heat treatment components

Skills Required

▪ Strong knowledge of QA / QC in manufacturing industries
▪ Good working knowledge of ISO 9001, PPAP, PFMEA, FAI, NCR, and 8D methodology
▪ IATF knowledge will be an added advantage
▪ Experience in customer complaint handling and warranty issue resolution
▪ Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits
▪ Knowledge of internal audits, customer audits, and certification audit
▪ Good communication in English, Hindi, and Kannada
▪ Ability to coordinate with international teams

Preferred Industry Background

▪ Rolling stock / railway component manufacturing
▪ Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 companies
▪ Customer exposure with Alstom, BEML, Indian Railways, or similar customers preferred

Experience: 7–10 Years for B.E./B.Tech OR 10–12 Years for Diploma
