Who will you be working with?

L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. We are an iconic company that has recently been acquired by Wabtec Corporation that has been in operation for over 150 years and has over 30,000 employees. We are looking for an individual to join our Shipping and Receiving team. This position will work directly with others in the Warehouse on a daily basis. This role may also work with shop and office personnel to ensure orders are shipped in a timely manner and meet shipping requirements.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse and helping to prepare all shipping documents and invoices, as well as coordinating and arranging domestic and oversea shipments. The Shipping and Receiving team do a variety of tasks depending on the day including but not limited to filing open orders and invoices, arranging and scheduling shipments, and running and sending out reports. This role may also observe, guide, and assist with training. This position works directly with other members of the warehouse, assembly supervisors, and the production manager when necessary.

This position rotates shifts every other week on days and afternoons. Day shift operates Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm. Afternoon shift operates Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm. OT is possible depending on production and shipping needs.

What do we want to know about you?

  • High School Diploma or GED with 6 months of related field.
  • Current Driver’s License
  •  Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Assist with regular Warehouse operations when not acting as Shipping Clerk.
  • Enter sale orders as directed by customer service.
  • Arrange and schedule product shipments with transport companies.
  • Prepare shipping labels, documents, and invoices.
  • Record shipments into computer system and distribute reports to appropriate departments.
  • File open orders, invoices, OEM accounts and shipping documents.
  • Troubleshoot and correct transportation discrepancies.
  • Responsible for filing accounts receivable receipts with original order.
  • Assist with timecard preparation.
  • May serve as a back-up for the receptionist during lunch and break times.
  • May serve as back up to other office support positions as needed.
  • File freight damage claims with transportation companies.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform related work or job duties as required by supervisor.

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • Wear correct PPE – earplugs, protective eye wear, steel-toed boots, and work provided uniform (gloves when necessary).
  • Lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand on  concrete for 8-10 hours.
  • Work in high heat conditions.
  • Practice and maintain safe work conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Proficient data entry skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
  • Demonstrate maturity, intelligence, cooperation, and discretion.
  • Work effectively with fellow employees and independently.
  • Dependability under both supervised and unsupervised conditions.
  • Willingness to train in other areas.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug and background test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing.                                                                                        Forklift driving experience.

 

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The hourly range for this role is between $21.00 - $28.50. The actual hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
