Job Description

Deputy Manager - Production

Key missions of the position:

  • Drive Manufacturing team to achieve established targets of daily production plan and OTD.
  • Maintain high product quality and manufacturing yield while ensuring optimal use of resources and adherences to best safety practices.
  • Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess productivity and inventory management
  • Hire, coach, lead and develop Manufacturing team members in line to production requirement.
  • Proficient in implementation of and continued adherence to Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives.
  • Adherence to Production SOP and Quality standards.
  • Proficient in VMC, HMC, & other CNC Machine Programming & Operations.
  • Hands-on experience in Special process Machining.   
  • Complete employee reviews on time and provide proper guidance to all production personnel according to the employee handbook and approved procedures.
  • Drive Leading Indicator – QRQC.

Manufacturing Role

  • Conduct Daily review on Safety parameter and internal quality issue.
  • Effective Resource utilization for meeting Weekly / Monthly Operation Plan.
  • Daily monitoring of Production deliveries and accounting Standard Man hour in ERP(M3) system.
  • Perform Perpetual inventory audit on monthly basis to maintain zero variance in man hour and material.
  • Non-conformance transaction to be maintained in control by stringent process review and control measures
  • Adverse knowledge in MS Office Suite to prepare data analysis pertains to production performance and review
  • Responsible and steer team to complete successful implementation of new project FAI
  • Streamline Digitization projects where ever applicable in production domain.
  • Drive team to implement Kaizen which enable continuous improvement in terms of PQCD
  • Co-ordinate with cross functional team to successful launch & Complete development of new projects.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building capabilities with CFT Stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with process owner and support to prepare PFMEA and control plan for new and existing project.
  • Work closely with internal customer (QUA) and implement action plan to eradicate customer complaints.
  • Adhere 100% coherence to Audit requirement
  • Understanding and sustain to maintain IMS and IRIS statutory requirement.
  • Involve in preparation of BI reports (SFU performance) along with M3 Key user (MFG)
  • Streamline the production process flow in line to layout.
  • Must be ready to work in rotational shift on Shop Floor.

What education and education level are necessary for the position? B.E / M.E with Mechanical as core subject.

How many years of professional experience in a specific professional area are required for the position? Minimum 8+ Years of Experience in Manufacturing domain, Machine Shop.

Competence & Level

Experience in People Management: Expert

Working & Programming knowledge of CNC Machines: Expert

Working knowledge of Machine Shop operation line with Both Conventional Machine & CNC operated Machine: High

Technical knowledge on the Special Process management: High

Proven ability to identify, assess and solving technical problems: High

Technical writing ability: High

High-level skill in IT and systems operations: High

Conversant with IMS, IRIS quality systems: High

Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations: High

Languages: Tamil, English
