Job Description

Who will you be working with?

The Fleet Program Manager (FPM) will own and drive delivery on commitments for assigned fleet reliability as well as specific contractual obligations for Canadian National Railway.  In partnership with the Service and Operations Leaders, the FPM is a primary customer point-of-contact for service and reliability related topics

How will you make a difference?

The FPM interfaces directly with all levels of customer management and across the entire Wabtec matrix.  The FPM will also work closely with Services to support the launch of shop initiatives, workscopes and new locomotive models/orders.

     

    What will your typical day look like?

    • Contract locomotive fleet performance tracking and reconciliation. 
    • Conduct periodic locomotive fleet maintenance program and performance reviews with customer(s). 
    • Responsible for planning, scheduling and executing field modification and overhaul program requirements, warranty administration, managing internal and customer communication regarding program status, warranty, and issue investigation. 
    • Responsible for the delivery of issue resolution and program execution to meet internal targets established for the customers assigned. 
    • Networks with engineering, commercial and program management teams to identify solutions to reliability and contractual issues. 
    • Provide the technical skills and leadership to organize, plan, and implement detail work scopes with schedules and planned expenditures for maintenance and overhaul programs. 
    • Develop, implement, and maintain operating plans for each assigned program or customer. 
    • Provide direction and leadership to drive for process improvements across all functions involved in delivery of service to the customer. 
    • Take a leadership role in the definition of elements and recommendations supporting the overall best interest of both the customer and the company.

     

    You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

    Qualifications

    What do we want to know about you?

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or leadership support role)
    • At least 3 additional years of experience in warranty, support equipment, engineering, operations. 
    • Strong analytical and project management skills. 
    • Knowledge and experience with statistical analysis. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
    • Fluent in English language (writing, speaking, reading). 

    Desired

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Able to interface at all levels, both internally and externally
