Job Description: Graduate Engineer Apprentice – Locomotive Field

Graduate Engineer Apprentice

Job Purpose:
To support the maintenance and operation activities of locomotives while gaining hands-on experience and technical knowledge under the guidance of senior professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in routine inspection and preventive maintenance of locomotives.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic & heavy repair.
- Maintain the reports with shed control team
- Learn and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) for locomotive servicing.
- Aid in identifying faults and reporting issues to supervisors.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, checklists and shed operation activity of locomotive.
- Follow safety standards and compliance guidelines strictly.
- Support breakdown maintenance and emergency repair activities.
- Participate in training sessions and technical workshops.
- Coordination with Prompt response team during locomotive operations
Educational Qualifications:
- B.Tech in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic understanding of locomotive systems / diesel engines
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Good observation and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment
- Teamwork and communication skills
Experience:
- Freshers pass out 2025/ 2026
- Prior internship/ in railways or heavy machinery is an advantage

- Physically fit for fieldwork
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work in shifts
