SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineering interns are responsible for task and projects under the direction of the Engineering Manager. Projects and tasks will focus on the development, design, analysis, testing, prototyping and release of mechanical hardware for Nordco equipment.

- New Product Development (NPD) Manager / NPD Project Managers
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in design and development of Nordco’s equipment and related components.
- Use Creo to complete design improvement and corrective action projects.
- Update product models and drawings for other projects of various difficulties within the Engineering Department.
- Work closely with the Engineering Department to support Production and other manufacturing initiatives.
- Utilize basic computer software to develop or maintain spreadsheets, databases, documents, and to communicate with various departments within the organization.
- Acquire, plot, and analyse data with the assistance from a mentor.
- Build relationships with people within the organization to help complete tasks
- Other job duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- GPA of 3.0+
Experience
- General Mechanical design skills
- Experience with design software, Creo preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily light duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted. Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to talk and hear. Normal correctable vision is required.
