Who will you work with?

Wabtec Faiveley Nordic AB is part of Wabtec Corporation, a system supplier to the international railway industry. We are a world-leading supplier of brake components and a service provider for the rail industry.

How will you make a difference?

As a Production Supervisor Machining, you will oversee daily machining activities, ensure quality standards are met, and drive operational efficiency while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical machining knowledge with proven supervisory capabilities to manage team performance and optimize production outcomes.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Supervise and coordinate daily machining operations, including CNC equipment operation and manual machining processes
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of machining tasks while maintaining quality standards
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective actions to address defects or deviations
  • Manage inventory of machining materials, tools, and equipment; coordinate procurement as needed
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members; provide performance feedback and identify development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, workplace standards, and company policies
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime
  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to align production goals and resolve operational challenges
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation for quality assurance and regulatory purposes

What do we want to know about you?

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in machining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CNC and conventional machining equipment, tools, and techniques
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection methods, and tolerance standards
  • Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA compliance, and workplace safety protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make decisive decisions
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Experience with inventory management and material handling systems

**Preferred Skills:**

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Advanced CNC programming capabilities
  • Familiarity with ERP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Experience in training and developing team members
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and certifications
