Senior Electrical Commodity Leader

Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Electrical Commodity Leader will be responsible to identify and drive proactive strategies with a clear focus on margin improvement, cash generation, supplier relationship management, dual source development, low cost country spend migration, cross functional project management, supplier delivery performance management and service part productivity.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive margin improvement by creating and executing cost reduction negotiations, extending supplier payment terms, and optimizing landed cost through control of logistics and tariff costs.
  • Forecast deflation, synergy savings, tariff spend, expense & investment spend and cash improvement.
  • Work across business units to identify synergy savings.
  • Improve material availability and quality by conducting supplier leadership reviews, recovering costs incurred associated with defects, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions related to delivery delays, eliminating premium transportation, and ensuring all purchase orders are promised in a timely manner.
  • Develop and execute long term, global strategies for the critical Electrical sub-commodities.
  • Create short and long-term commodity strategies and influence cross functional team members.
  • Position the commodity for future success by enduring each part has multiple suppliers and negotiating strategic long-term supply agreements.
  • Work closely with shop operations and commercial / product management teams to prioritize cost out efforts where needed on specific products and programs.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Supply Chain or Related Field
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Commodity Management or Global Supply Chain.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Demonstrated background of building collaborative relationships
  • Proven people management skills with clear vision and can-do attitude
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong data analytics and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with positive persuasive attitude
  • Fact Based Negotiation Experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and expertise required in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams such as engineering, NPI sourcing, quality, services, materials etc. to achieve timely project execution
  • Ability to work with Global Supply Base
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality certification
  • Strong project planning, project execution skills
