How will you make a difference?
As a member of the Wabtec Global Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise networking solutions across a large global organization. This position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient deployment and operation of WAN, LAN, and WLAN environments.
You will contribute to both strategic initiatives and daily operations, ensuring network performance, reliability, and scalability aligned with business demands. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will lead or support high-impact projects and provide technical guidance to internal teams, service desk, and external partners.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining network standards, supporting infrastructure evolution, and ensuring delivery excellence through strong stakeholder engagement and structured project execution.
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields required
- Advanced English proficiency
- Experience in Information Technology with focus on networking technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Nexus, HP, CheckPoint, ASA, Fortinet, SD-WAN, QoS)
- Proven experience with WAN, LAN, and WLAN design in enterprise environments
- Experience with data center networking technologies (Cisco, HPE Aruba, Arista)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and DNS
- Experience troubleshooting routing and DNS issues and implementing remediation actions
- Knowledge of ITIL V3 or V4 (certification is a plus)
- Cisco or HP network certifications are a plus
- Previous experience in industrial environments is a plus
What will your typical day look like?
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and deploy network (LAN/WAN/WLAN) standards
- Lead or contribute to network infrastructure projects with significant business impact
- Ensure timely delivery of projects in coordination with internal teams and external vendors
- Manage and support daily network operations, ensuring availability and reliability
- Define site network requirements and prepare cost estimates aligned with business needs
- Maintain network architecture documentation and operational procedures
- Monitor network performance and act as escalation point for critical incidents
- Troubleshoot complex network issues (L3 support) and communicate status updates
- Manage voice and internet circuits, including QoS optimization
- Support testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms
- Provide guidance and technical support to the Service Desk team
- Control regional infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with timelines and business goals
- Manage project risks, issues, scope, and changes to ensure successful delivery
- Report project status and proactively resolve blockers
- Organize and facilitate project meetings and stakeholder alignment
